How it works

How Verus works.

Verus splits block production 50/50 between Proof of Work miners and Proof of Stake validators in a model the project calls Proof of Power. Each block depends on both groups, so an attacker would need to dominate hashpower and stake at the same time. The VerusHash algorithm is designed to keep CPU mining competitive with specialized hardware.
