Bitkub Chain at a glance.
Bitkub Chain is a public, Ethereum compatible Layer 1 blockchain developed by the Thai Bitkub group, with its first block produced on April 28, 2021. It is designed for consumer payments, decentralized finance, and tokenized applications, and its native token is KUB. Here is how it works and what it is used for, not the price.

How Bitkub Chain works.
Bitkub Chain launched with a Proof of Authority model run by a small set of known validators, then moved through Proof of Staked Authority with the Erawan upgrade in 2022 and on to a Proof of Stake design. Under Proof of Stake, holders can take part as validators or delegators by staking KUB, and the staked set produces and validates blocks at a target time of about five seconds.

EVM compatibility
Bitkub Chain runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine, so developers can deploy Solidity contracts and reuse Ethereum tooling and wallets with few changes.
KUB token
KUB is the native token. It pays gas fees on the network, is staked by validators and delegators, and is used across applications in the Bitkub ecosystem.
Validators and delegators
Validators stake KUB to produce and verify blocks, while holders who do not run a node can delegate KUB to a validator to share in staking rewards.
Bitkub ecosystem
The chain is built by the Bitkub group and connects to its exchange and consumer products, with KUB used for fees and services across those services.
What Bitkub Chain is used for.
Bitkub Chain is used for payments, DeFi, NFTs, and tokenized assets, mainly across the Thai market and the Bitkub ecosystem.
Payments and consumer apps
Low fees and a roughly five second block time let projects use KUB for everyday payments and consumer facing applications.
DeFi and NFTs
Because the chain is EVM compatible, developers run decentralized exchanges, lending, and NFT projects using familiar Ethereum tooling.
Staking
Holders stake or delegate KUB to validators to help secure the network and earn a share of staking rewards.
