Overview

Ozone Chain at a glance.

Ozone Chain is a public, Ethereum compatible Layer 1 blockchain that pairs a standard EVM execution environment with lattice based post-quantum cryptography on its network layer, aiming to keep node communication secure against future quantum computers. The mainnet went live in 2023 and the native token is OZO. Here is how it works and what it is used for, not the price.

How it works

How Ozone Chain works.

Ozone Chain uses QBFT, a Byzantine fault tolerant Proof of Authority protocol, where a known set of validator nodes take turns proposing and confirming blocks. Because validators are permissioned rather than competing through mining, the network reaches finality quickly and targets a block time of about five seconds, while the post-quantum layer secures the communication between those nodes.

Consensus: QBFT Proof of Authority

Ozone Chain uses QBFT, a Byzantine fault tolerant Proof of Authority protocol, where a known set of validator nodes take turns proposing and confirming blocks. Post-quantum cryptography

Ozone Chain applies lattice based post-quantum cryptography to secure communication between nodes, an approach designed to resist attacks from future quantum computers.

Quantum random numbers

The project states it uses quantum sources to generate random values such as seeds and nonces for its cryptographic routines, rather than purely deterministic generators.

EVM compatibility

The chain runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine, so Solidity contracts and standard Ethereum tooling and wallets work with few changes.

OZO token

OZO is the native token. It pays gas fees and is used to interact with decentralized applications across the network.

Ecosystem & usage

What Ozone Chain is used for.

Ozone Chain is positioned for applications that want EVM compatibility together with quantum-resistant protection at the network layer.

EVM applications

Developers deploy Solidity contracts and run decentralized applications using familiar Ethereum tooling on an EVM compatible chain.

Quantum-aware security

The post-quantum network layer targets projects and users who want protection designed to hold up against future quantum attacks.

Fees and transactions

OZO is the native token used to pay gas and to move value across the network.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is Ozone Chain?
Ozone Chain is a public, EVM compatible Layer 1 blockchain that adds lattice based post-quantum cryptography to its network layer. Its mainnet launched in 2023 and the native token is OZO.
What makes Ozone Chain quantum resistant?
Ozone Chain applies lattice based post-quantum cryptography to secure communication between its nodes and uses quantum sourced random values in its cryptographic routines, an approach designed to resist future quantum computers.
What consensus does Ozone Chain use?
Ozone Chain uses QBFT, a Byzantine fault tolerant Proof of Authority protocol, where a known set of validator nodes take turns producing and confirming blocks.
What is the OZO token used for?
OZO is the native token of Ozone Chain. It pays gas fees and is used to interact with decentralized applications on the network.
Can I hold OZO in Zypto App?
Not yet. OZO isn't in Zypto App at the moment. You can hold it in any self-custodial wallet, and you can ask us to add Ozone Chain using the "Request Ozone Chain" button above.
