What is The Graph?
The Graph is a decentralized indexing protocol that makes it possible to query blockchain data efficiently. Rather than developers scraping data directly from nodes, The Graph lets them query structured data through APIs called subgraphs, which index and organize on-chain information. The GRT token is used to coordinate the network of indexers, curators, and delegators who maintain and improve these subgraphs. It launched in 2020 and has become a piece of infrastructure used across many DeFi and Web3 applications. Its role as data infrastructure makes it valuable to builders, not just traders.
