Aerodrome Finance is a decentralized exchange built to serve as a central liquidity hub on the Base network. It uses an automated market maker model combined with a vote-locking governance system that directs liquidity incentives across the platform. The AERO token is central to this model, used for governance and for steering rewards to different liquidity pools. By concentrating liquidity and aligning incentives, Aerodrome aims to support efficient trading on Base. It has become one of the more prominent exchanges within the Base ecosystem.
