Overview

Flare at a glance.

Flare is an EVM-compatible network built so smart contracts can use external data and other chains state without relying on a single source. It has data protocols built into the base layer. Here is how it works and how it is used, not the price.

How it works

How Flare works.

Flare uses a federated consensus model based on the Avalanche protocol, where a set of validators repeatedly sample one another to agree on the order of transactions. Being EVM-compatible, it runs the same smart-contract tooling as Ethereum.

Data on-chain

Flare is designed to deliver decentralized data to smart contracts, so apps can react to outside information.

Flare Time Series Oracle

The FTSO provides price and data feeds gathered from many independent providers rather than one source.

Flare Data Connector

The Data Connector lets contracts use external data and the state of other chains.

EVM compatible

Developers can deploy Ethereum-style smart contracts using familiar tools.

Ecosystem & usage

What Flare is used for.

Flare is used for applications that depend on reliable external data and cross-chain interoperability.

Data feeds

Apps that consume the FTSO price and data feeds.

Cross-chain apps

Contracts that act on data and state from other chains.

DeFi

Financial apps that need accurate, decentralized data inputs.
