TRONNATIVE TOKEN · TRX

A high-throughput programmable blockchain built for low-cost transfers at scale. It is one of the most-used networks for USDT stablecoin payments and remittance, with an EVM-compatible virtual machine that runs the same smart contracts developers already know.

How it works

A throughput chain, explained simply.

TRON keeps one shared record that a set of elected validators agree on, and lets anyone deploy programs that run on it exactly as written. Here are the four ideas that make that possible.

The shared ledger

Every balance and transaction lives in one public database copied across nodes worldwide. No company owns it; anyone can verify it.

Smart contracts

Programs that hold funds and run automatically when conditions are met, no middleman, no "trust me." They power swaps, stablecoins and tokens.

Energy & Bandwidth

Instead of one gas fee, actions spend two resources. Stake TRX to get Energy and Bandwidth for free, or pay a small amount of TRX directly.

Delegated Proof of Stake

TRX holders vote for 27 Super Representatives who produce blocks in turn. Votes can move at any time, keeping block producers accountable.

How Delegated Proof of Stake secures the chain
1

Stake & vote

TRX holders freeze tokens to earn votes, then cast them for the candidates they want to produce blocks. Staked TRX also unlocks Energy and Bandwidth.

2

Top 27 produce blocks

The 27 candidates with the most votes become Super Representatives. They take turns producing a block roughly every 3 seconds and confirming transactions.

3

Reward & re-elect

Block producers earn TRX rewards and share a portion with their voters. Votes are re-tallied continuously, so an under-performing producer can be voted out.

The layers under the hood
Execution
The TVM, TRON Virtual Machine
Runs the smart-contract code and updates balances. It is EVM-compatible, so Solidity contracts port across with minimal changes.
Consensus
Delegated Proof of Stake, 27 Super Reps
Coordinates elected block producers to agree on the order of blocks, with new blocks confirmed about every 3 seconds.
Resources
Energy & Bandwidth
Two metered resources cover computation and storage. Stake TRX to receive them, or burn a small amount of TRX per action instead.
What you can build
  • TRC-20, fungible tokens & stablecoins
  • TRC-721, unique NFTs
  • TRC-10, native lightweight tokens
  • Written in Solidity for the TVM

Because these standards are shared, a token created today works in every wallet, exchange and app, including Zypto, on day one.

Reliability
Continuous block production since mainnet launch (June 2018)
TRON has produced blocks on a roughly 3-second cadence since the MainNet went live. The elected Super Representative set rotates block production so the chain keeps advancing.
NoteA small set of block producers concentrates validation. This favors speed and predictable block times, and is a different trade-off from networks with thousands of validators.
Ecosystem

What people actually build on it.

TRON carries deep stablecoin liquidity and a focused set of applications. Here's the landscape, and where most of the value sits.

DefiLlama

Stablecoins

USDT (TRC-20) is the headline use case, ~$64B on-chain, used heavily for payments and remittance.

DeFi

Lending, trading and yield through apps like JustLend and SunSwap, settling in TRX and TRC-20 assets.

Payments & remittance

Low, predictable transfer costs make TRON a common rail for moving stablecoins across borders.

Tokens & NFTs

TRC-20, TRC-10 and TRC-721 standards power fungible tokens, lightweight assets and collectibles.

What is TRON in one sentence?
TRON is a public, programmable blockchain built for high-throughput, low-cost transfers, widely used for moving USDT (TRC-20) stablecoins between people and businesses.
How does TRON keep fees so low?
Instead of a single gas fee, TRON meters two resources, Energy and Bandwidth. You can stake TRX to receive these resources and transact without paying per action, or burn a small amount of TRX directly.
What are Super Representatives?
They are the 27 block producers elected by TRX holder votes under Delegated Proof of Stake. They take turns producing blocks roughly every 3 seconds, and votes can shift at any time to replace under-performing producers.
Is TRON compatible with Ethereum tools?
Largely, yes. The TRON Virtual Machine (TVM) is EVM-compatible, so smart contracts written in Solidity can be ported with minimal changes, and developers can reuse familiar tooling.
Is TRON available in the Zypto App?
Yes. You can hold, swap and self-custody TRX and TRC-20 tokens including USDT in the Zypto App, and spend a subset (TRX, USDT, USDC) through Zypto Pay. For live prices and charts, see the TRX price page.
