What is NEO?
NEO is a layer-1 smart contract platform that launched in 2016, originally under the name Antshares, and is sometimes described as one of the earliest blockchains to come out of China. It positions itself around a 'smart economy' that combines digital assets, digital identity, and smart contracts. The NEO token represents a stake in the network and produces a second asset, GAS, which is used to pay for transactions and computation. This two-token model separates ownership from the cost of using the chain. NEO is one of the longer-standing smart contract platforms in the market. Through the Zypto Premium Visa Card, your NEO balance is converted at the point of sale, so you use the value of your crypto for real-world spending wherever Visa is accepted, subject to eligibility and applicable limits. You can also swap NEO into stablecoins in-app for bill pay or gift cards.
